Spruced up for a day of shopping, a nomad woman blossoms during a trip to Jyekundo. In areas high above the tree line, where summer flowers have a hard time growing, the landscape can be almost monotone. To brighten their world, Tibetans often paint their buildings in dazzling hues and give their outfits a bit of flash—in this case a vivid blouse, some colorful trim, and even a festive sprig stuck in a hat.
